Activities & Snacks

Activities:

  • Build an igloo with ice cubes or blocks
  • Go ice skating!  Go to a skating rink or tape white plastic garbage bags to the floor and skate on the “indoor ice rink” in your socks!
  • Go on an insect hunt…. How many insects can you find?
  • Make an igloo out of a milk carton covered in saran wrap!
  • Make an inchworm out of multicolored Pompom balls (this activity also addresses colors, counting, shapes, textures, and long/short concepts).
  • Make different colored insects on a construction paper letter ‘i’ from finger ink prints!
  • Make invitations…. invite a special over to play!
  • Paint with ice cubes outside
  • Play “I Spy”
  • Sing or act out “The Itsy-Bitsy Spider”
  • Write the letter ‘i’ in or with some icing!
  • Play Don’t Break the Ice
  • Make homemade ice cream

Snacks:

  • Ice cream
  • Ice cream sandwiches
  • Icky insects (gummy worms, gummy bugs)
  • Inch sandwiches! Cut bread into 1″ squares.  Fill with cheese and lunch meat.
  • Inchworms (Cut gummy worms to 1″ in length)!
  • Italian ice
